What does "medically fragile" mean? A medically fragile child has complex healthcare needs that require ongoing medical supervision or skilled nursing care. This may include children with feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, oxygen dependence, seizure disorders, cerebral palsy, genetic disorders, or other chronic medical conditions

Who qualifies for GAPP services? Children may qualify if they: Are under 21 years old Are enrolled in Georgia Medicaid Have a physician's order for services Meet medical necessity requirements for skilled nursing or personal care services.

What services are covered under GAPP? Depending on the child's medical needs, GAPP may cover: Skilled nursing care Personal care assistance Medication administration Feeding tube care Tracheostomy care Ventilator management Oxygen monitoring Seizure monitoring Assistance with bathing, dressing, and mobility Family caregiver education and support.

Is there a cost to families? No. Approved GAPP services are covered by Georgia Medicaid for eligible children, with no out-of-pocket cost for covered services.
